INTRAVENOUS ANESTHESIA FOR THE PEDIATRIC DENTAL PATIENT  

Intravenous anesthesia, commonly known as IV sedation, provides a way of effectively completing dental care while your child is asleep. Most children respond well to nitrous oxide and/or an oral sedative. However, children with severe anxiety and/or the inability to relax are candidates for intravenous anesthesia. Usually, these children are very young, anxious or physically/mentally compromised.

The use of IV sedation allows Dr.Zotovich to complete many dental visits in just one appointment, without fear and discomfort.  Your child will fall asleep in your arms and wake up in your arms.  As a result, your child may look forward to future dental visits!

Your child's safety is our primary concern.  IV sedation is commonly used to help children through dental procedures and is very safe.  Our anesthesiologists are experienced health care providers, residency trained in the delivery of intravenous anesthesia.

Our anesthesiologists utilize the most up to date medicines, monitors and equipment in order to provide quality care.  They also attend annual meetings of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists, completing over 50 hours of continuing medical and dental education each year.  Our doctors are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
